Close Encounters of the Tall Kind

Usually, photographer Roy seeks out animals. But this time, they came to him when a “tower” of six giraffes (yes, a group of giraffes is known as a “tower”) visited his Gondwana villa to nibble on some trees. Roy was nearly face-to-face with this female eager to pose. “A close encounter – 20 feet, max,” recalls Roy. “I can get amazing shots with the animal staring the camera down. They just come to me. I don’t know what it is.” Call it Creature Comfort.
